WHAT TYPES OF CONTENT WILL THE DEVELOPMENTAL EDITOR LOOK FOR?
Furthermore, a developmental editor will assess story structure, character development, setting, stakes, tension and mood. After reading your entire book, I will give you a 5-7 page letter which takes a deep dive into your writing and recommends how to keep the piece focused. WHAT TYPES OF WRITERS NEED A GOOD DEVELOPMENTAL EDITOR?
All writers but especially new writers. Most publishing houses do not provide developmental editing and expect your story to already be strong. That’s where I come in as your developmental editor. I provide a full text, comprehensive look at your entire book and will help you improve the content or the story.

The answer is yes in most cases. I will give you voluminous tracked changes, and suggest what content of yours you might want to take a second look at and rewrite sections of. But proofreading is the last step before you submit your book to publishers.
